About National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)

The National Endowment for the Humanities is an independent federal agency dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. It provides grants for high-quality humanities projects to cultural institutions such as museums, archives, libraries, colleges, universities, public television, and radio stations as well as to individual scholars. NEH was created in 1965 under the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities.
